After working as a photographer in my family business since 2005, I have officially decided to pursue photography long term. The only problem is that I don't want to stay in the family business mainly due to the fact that my parents can no longer see any good in my photography and refuse to see any flaws in their own. I am open to criticism, just not when it isn't always called for. I admit when I have messed up and I try to be hard on myself. Sometimes I wonder if my parents just look for my flaws because I am their daughter since they clearly do not do the same for their other employees.

My best friend has always longed to be photographed and to be a model- so I am going on my first solo and non-wedding photo shoot with her sometime this summer. Of course, I have to borrow my parents' equipment... I wish I had my own camera... unfortunately, with my financial status, my car is on its way out, and the need to pay bills I do not see it happening very soon. I'm not even sure how to start pursuing professional photography... I can't even post my best work on this website because it belongs to my parents company and not me.
